Hamel Volunteer Fire has been serving Medina and the Neighboring Communities since 1928. The Department's coverage protects over 5,200 residents and more than $1.4B of property value in a 13 square mile area. 

All firefighters are MN state certified to a minimum requirement of Firefighter I and II and MN State Emergency Medical Services Regulatory Board Certified as First Responder or EMT. Many choose additional training for other state certifications such as Fire Instructors and Fire Officers. 

The Department provides a wide range of services to the community including:

  • Auto Extrication and Technical Rescue
